EXPRESS SMASH CAPS

The Express bounced back after a devastating 7-5 loss to the Langley Chiefs Saturday by taking out their frustrations on the Cowichan Valley Capitals by a score of 9-2.

Massimo Lamacchia came within one point of tying an Express franchise record for points in a game with 3 goals and 3 assists for 6 points. Kyle Turris holds the Express record for points in a game with 7. A feat he accomplished twice in his career.

The last Express player to pick up 6 points in a game was Carlo Finucci who had 1 goal and 5 assists in a 7-1 Express win over the Surrey Eagles on November 28 2007.

Lamacchia finished the weekend with 10 points in 3 games after a 4 assist outing in Friday's 7-3 win over the Surrey Eagles. Can you say BCHL Player of the week? I can.

Malcom Mckinney had his second straight strong outing opening the scoring 18 seconds into the game. He also added a pair of assists. That is on the heels of scoring his first 2 goals of the season Saturday night in Langley.

Garrick Perry, Austin Carroll and Jared Eng also added singles for the Express.

Coquitlam finished the 3 game weekend with a 2-1 record. They scored a total of 21 goals in the 3 games for an average of 7 goals for per game.

The win improved the Express home ice record to 5-1.
